When Tuesdays Together started (in the Florida Panhandle)
I first heard about some group called “Tuesdays Together” meeting for The Rising Tide Society in Destin when I moved to Pensacola almost a year ago. I had no contacts, no friends, no idea what to do with myself as a person and business owner in a new place.
I decided to make the drive over to the Destin meeting for the first time even though I was uncomfortable walking into the room by myself, and didn’t know a soul. The people there were excited and kind, and Erica Manthey of Pure7 Photography, the group’s leader was so impressive and easy to learn from. She was an inspiration straight away and became a friend.
This group isn’t just about learning, even though that’s been a wonderful perk to hear about other people’s experiences. It’s been about creating and keeping up a community for creative business owners, instead of keeping us all isolated and scared of each other.
Bringing it Closer!
We had our first local Pensacola Tuesdays Together meeting in January, in which I somehow had agreed to lead. I stuttered through my notes that morning at having to stand up in front of a group but got back great responses and discussion, meeting new people in my area that would start to come back again and again.
Now we are at our 8th meeting this year this August, and I couldn’t be happier to see this group of people I now know each month, and with new faces coming as well. Thanks so much to Jacey at Jacey with Skin Beauty for hosting us this month, we appreciate it so much! What a cute place, and those decorations!!
If you are a creative business owner looking for community in your area, there are Tuesday Together chapters across the country. Head over to
