Northern Virginia Portrait Photographer – McKaela at home
There’s something about solo portrait sessions that I just love, and it’s even better when they tell a story about the person I’m photographing.
I met McKaela at her home for some photos in her own space! First of all, isn’t she an incredible decorator?!
I told McKaela when I walked in that it reminded me of a mix between Hawaii and Nashville, which is where I moved from, and it made me so nostalgic and happy. This felt like the perfect session for me to get to be a part of.
The light walls and open space mixed with vintage records (that McKaela regularly listens to and seeks out) reminded me of my home in Music City, but with ukuleles and bikinis to give it the tropical Hawaii twist it deserves here on the island.
