The Front Entrance

Just walking into the front entrance at the Oxbow Estate is a treat because of the sweeping staircase with black and gold railing and seeing the walls and floors matching in marble. It really is a feast for your eyes! There are multiple rooms to explore from there but it all feels very open and airy, one of my favorite features about the property.
The Groom's Suite

The groom’s suite is a great highlight at this wedding venue because so often the second partner’s quarters are an afterthought. Instead of being tucked away in some dark room, enjoy actual comfort, great light for portraits and fun entertainment for both wedding party sides here!
The Bathrooms

This may seem like a strange highlight for me to let you in on at first, but the bathrooms are truly such a reminder that no detail has been forgotten. The bathtubs are such a fun addition for your getting ready photos or bridal photos, who doesn’t want to lounge in a vintage tub for a memorable moment?

Should we both get ready at The Oxbow?
Yes, there is plenty of room and dedicated quarters for both sides of the wedding party. You will also have many gorgeous photos from your getting ready in these locations, and getting ready there will cut down on time spent traveling on your wedding day.
Where do you recommend taking our formal portraits here?
Well honestly…. everywhere, but my favorite spots are in the grand fireplace room downstairs, outside on the balcony and porch area with their timeless pillars, and the front entrance on the stairs. For family formals, I would recommend close to where your ceremony is being held since that’s where the group will be near.
What time should we schedule our ceremony to begin?
It depends on when the sunset is during your date, which I can give you a custom recommendation when you inquire. However, typically around 5:30pm is a good general first guess here. There are things to take into account like if you’d like to do a first look or not that will also be a factor!
Do you have other vendor recommendations?
Yes, I am very involved in the wedding community in North Carolina and have worked with the best in the business. I can definitely help you with recommendations and will send over my vendor list for you to ensure you have an amazing team!

Luxurious details, sweeping tablescapes, they’re all great. I love em too.
But the reason I’m passionate about weddings is because of the unplanned moments. I look back on my own wedding day and cherish the people that showed up for me, the surprising tears and the wild dance floor tricks that maybe weren’t gonna be featured on a big wedding publication, but that make me smile.
I’ve photographed weddings in different languages, on an island, in the South, in New York, in LA… and here’s what I’ve learned is always true.
At the end of the day, weddings are always about humans at our best, celebrating ourselves and the people we love.
